Privacy

Drift or Sink is designed around one idea: what you write here is not kept. This page explains how that promise works.

What we store

• The text of your message (encrypted at rest)
• An optional pseudonym, if you choose to add one
• The date and time you released the message

What we do not store

• Your name, email, or any account information — there are no accounts
• Your IP address
• Your device or browser fingerprint
• Any cookies beyond a single local flag to remember you've seen the welcome screen

How long messages live

Every message is automatically and permanently deleted after 7 days. If someone discovers your message, it may be deleted sooner — typically within 24 hours of being read.

Deletion is irreversible. There are no backups of message content.

Analytics

We may use Umami, a privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics tool, to understand how people use this site — for example, how many messages are written or discovered.

• No cookies are used
• No personal data is collected (no IP, no fingerprint, no identifiers)
• The analytics script is only loaded if you explicitly accept it
• You can withdraw consent at any time using the button below

Moderation

An automated filter may flag messages containing harmful content. Flagged messages may be reviewed and removed. There are no user accounts to ban because there are no user accounts.

Your rights

Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing to request, export, or delete. The system is private by design, not by policy.
